Trivia, who am I? come on give it a go!

I was born in London in 1774 and trained as a surveyor

Before buying a commission in the New South Wales corps.

I arrived in Sydney in 1800 and was posted to Norfolk Island for six years.

I returned to Sydney and started to acquire land and in 1808,

I was appointed aide-de-camp to Major George Johnston

who led the rum rebellion against Governor Bligh.

I was summoned to London in 1810

To give evidence at the court martial of Johnston and on returning to Australia,

I was given a large tract of land at prospect.

I was appointed commandant of the new settlement at Bathurst

And given another large grant of land on the Campbell River there,

For my part in the expedition which found a route across the Blue Mountains - I am?
